What we do for Children

We currently advocate for children
and are a bridge for needs and services. Since our beginning we've assisted children in the community with clothing, food and toys. We've done this through fundraising and drives. We are working diligently towards securing  a building that will provide a family oriented group home for children who are placed in care.

What we do for Parents

We advocate for parents who are at risk of losing their children due to lack of housing, and parents who have lost their children and are working diligently towards reunification. We currently act as a conduit to link parents to services that will assist them in becoming stable, re-educated and productive parents in society. We are actively fundraising to meet our goal of providing transitional housing for these parents.

It Takes a Village

We thank you in advance for your support, encouragement and donations. We can't do all of this on our own. Children who grow up in loving, healthy environment grow into strong men and women and great mothers and fathers. We cannot change the world.  However, we are impacting the world by building a brighter future one child at a time.

Hallie Reed-Mcknight

For someone who has been working with children for 27 years it was destiny for Hallie Reed-Mcknight to found Hallie's Haven. Marrying her brand of compassion and family to a meaningful non-for-profit business is the next logical step for Hallie. As a mother to 8 beautiful children, she is dedicated to taking her philosophy on family into her future group home and parental shelter. She plans to take these endeavors above the average call for a place to live and create a true home for children and parents in need.

Foster care is still a huge part of her life to this day. In the past she has worked with children and families in South Dakota, and Maryland, as well as her current place of residence Buffalo New York. Throughout her life span she has been blessed to work with special needs and  therapeutic children who have grown into very capable adults who are thriving and successful in their own communities. She works continuously to be a bridge between children and parents in need. She has successfully directed after-school programs as well as played an active role in community churches working in various areas dealing with children.  She works diligently in her efforts to make a difference in the lives of children. Reaching out to the community letting them know that #CHILDRENMATTER

The mere cost of a soda and a sandwich is all we’re asking from you. Your minor donation will have a major impact in the lives of children and parents. It will help to finance a group home that goes above and beyond by providing not only a physical home but an environment that acts in the way of a family with parental support, love and care. These elements of a family home are missing in many group homes and they may be the most important in ensuring a child has a place to truly flourish and come into their own. Your donation will also fund our space for transitional housing for parents who are at risk for losing their child and are working diligently to get them back into their home.
